MODULE 01: Knowledge

The first step in securing your place in the exciting drone economy is to earn your remote pilot's certification.  This is  an FAA designation that requires you to pass a knowledge test of 60 questions administered at a nearby airport.  

At The Pilot Mind, we will carefully and systematically guide you through the eleven study sections that are included in your FAA Part 107 test, so that you will be fully prepared to pass this exam and gain your remote pilot's certification.  

The study topics that are included in this module are:

  • Applicable regulations relating to small unmanned aircraft system rating privileges, limitations, and flight operation;
  • Airspace classification, operating requirements, and flight restrictions affecting small unmanned aircraft operation;
  • Aviation weather sources and effects of weather on small unmanned aircraft performance;
  • Small unmanned aircraft loading;
  • Emergency procedures;
  • Crew resource management;
  • Radio communication procedures;
  • Determining the performance of small unmanned aircraft;
  • Physiological effects of drugs and alcohol;
  • Aeronautical decision-making and judgment;
  • Airport operations;
  • Maintenance and preflight inspection procedures.

We will spread these topics out over 20-hours of instruction to ensure that you are prepared and proficient in this critical areas of remote pilot knowledge.

Our training in conducted by a LIVE instructor, who will guide you, support you, and make sure that all your questions are answered throughout this course.  

We offer this course both online and in-person.  Typically, it will be 2-hours each evening on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for three straight weeks.  We find this spreads the content out over a manageable time period that will ensure your success on the FAA Part 107 remote pilot's exam.
